Expert Advice on Wedding Themes

Which wedding theme best sits your personality, the season and style? This question is not easy to answer. For many couples, the choice has been a perennial problem. But it need not be. Your wedding theme is your personal style – how unique or how traditional you want it to be is a matter of choice. Typically, there are traditional and non-traditional themes to choose from. We look at different possibilities in this article.

For couples who want a typical traditional wedding, a church wedding will be their pick. In this type of wedding, you would be limited in processional routines, officiating and music. A traditional church wedding is usually overseen by a priest and church music is played. The bride would need to be in the usual long robe with all its attendant ceremonies.

There is another type of traditional wedding in which the couple will observe their ceremony in ancient castles, cottages or some monument. The idea behind this type is to move away from the bustle and hustle of the city into a secluded area. You can call it a conservative approach.

A non-traditional affair can be in the form of a beach wedding. Having your ceremony at the beach is considered one of the most casual ways to marry. There are no strict formal ceremonies and almost anything can be worn. There are fewer accessories, less flamboyance and pomp. A beach wedding is usually held in summer or spring where there are lots of sunshine and clear skies.

Whether you opt for a traditional or non-traditional, you need to ensure that your decoration and color match the season. If you are having a traditional church wedding, you would need to decorate your hall solemnly but a beach ceremony can be very fanciful and reflect life at the beach. If you have a rural theme, then why not go green with decorations?
